My husband, Bill and I moved to Brandon, Fl in July 1992. Up to that time, we had spent all of our years in Chester County, PA.
After 15 years in Brandon, we decided to downsize. Bill happened upon the Deerfields Villas at Wilderness Lake Preserve and it was exactly what we were looking for. We were impressed with the conservation areas and the fact that we would be able to walk or ride bikes for miles without leaving WLP. We moved to Deerfields in February 2007.
We have a daughter and son-in-law living in Odessa, Fl; another reason this location was ideal.
I owned an Auntie Anne’s Soft Pretzel franchise at the Tampa Bay Center mall for eight years. I am now retired and wanted to offer my time to the Board of Directors of Wilderness Lake Preserve. I have also served on the Deerfields Committee since September 2007.
We love WLP and want to ensure that the community remains lovely, safe and friendly and our investment in the community stays secure. |

Marilyn Ungaro
My name is Marilyn Ungaro. My husband and I have been residents of WLP for five + years. We were drawn to WLP for the ambiance of being close to nature. We are glad to see the developer is living up to our expectations.
I have always made it a priority to attend the HOA meetings and most recently served on the ARC. Being on that particular committee, hearing other members opinions, and researching Federal and Florida statues has brought to my attention the need for a better understanding of the Declaration of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions. WLP is a beautiful community, but as in all things, there are areas of concern. My goal for sitting on the HOA board is to help maintain our way of life, and ensure changes are made to allow flexibility, so that all members can feel comfortable and confident with the decisions made by the board.
Thank you for electing me to the WLP HOA board. |

The lifestyle of Wilderness Lake Preserve is what I envisioned for my retirement years. Since moving here three years ago my wife and I became volunteers at various lodge and community events, from cookouts to team members in Relay for Life.
A teacher, a salesperson, and a funeral director have been my professions while I lived in New Jersey. In each of these professions I worked with people, and dealt with their joys, frustrations, and their sorrows. I made a difference to them and hope to make one for Wilderness Lake Preserve's quality of life.
